Well Spent
Produce bakery mixes and snack products with upcycled grain from breweries. The business will create a system to dry (energy efficiently) and mill the spent grain into an ambient stable and food-suitable ingredient (flour). Once tested as food-safe this ingredient can then be added to bakery mixes (such as pizza bases and sourdough bread) and snacks (crisps and crackers) to boost the nutritional profile (high fibre and protein) which in turn will benefit the consumer diet. Ultimately, it will create a sustainable circular economy food source, boosting consumer nutrition whilst reducing waste from local breweries.
