KEPSoft Collaborative
The burden of kidney disease is increasing, and sadly in the UK, six people a week die whilst waiting for a kidney transplant.
KEPsoft Collaborative will be a not-for-profit social enterprise established by the University of Glasgow to increase the number of kidney transplants. The KEPsoft software platform matches people who need a kidney, with people who are willing to donate one, by creating “kidney exchanges”. Matching is complicated because donors need to match blood group and other clinical criteria, with their recipient. KEPsoft gives new opportunities for living kidney donation, thus alleviating the suffering of more people.
