Business Training

If you succeed in gaining a place on our programme, you’ll be part of a diverse cohort of future founders participating in a highly valuable, expert-led training programme.

Designed by the Entrepreneur Business School (EBS) specifically for academic entrepreneurs, our intensive course will give you an excellent grounding in all aspects of starting a business including how to build strong teams, navigate the incorporation process, gain closer engagement with markets and customers and, ultimately, create an investable company with a strong proposition.

Tailor-made training

Our cohort brings together businesses with diverse stages of growth, across a wide range of sectors – each with their own particular set of challenges and training requirements.

With that in mind, our inclusive course splits into different training streams that answer the diverse needs of our academic cohorts.

You’ll discover the core building blocks of business, tailored to propel your innovative idea forward and drive success, including –

Learn about fulfilling legal and statutory obligations as a director
Identify intellectual assets and implement a management strategy
Create a robust financial forecast and plan to secure capital
Build a bottom-up sales plan and sales forecast
Identify your target market & develop product pricing strategies

Blended learning

The training programme is practical, interactive and engaging – you won’t be in a classroom watching endless PowerPoint slides.  Instead, our training team will share their experience, knowledge and expertise in a dynamic, learning environment where you are actively encouraged to take part.

Our bespoke entrepreneurial training is delivered through a mix of online on-demand modules and face-to-face sessions including masterclasses and networking events.

Fostering inclusion

As part of our Pathways Pledge, Converge has committed to integrating an Equality and Diversity component into our business training programme. Designed to help early-stage founders foster a culture of inclusion from the get-go, this new training component will demonstrate how inclusion can help build more robust teams, unlock a broader range of perspectives and, ultimately, grow more sustainable businesses. We will also capture enhanced gender data, gleaning more meaningful insights into Converge-supported companies to better understand the support needed by women entrepreneurs.

Pathways Forward was created in response to extensive public and private sector engagement and momentum generated by the Pathways Report. The primary objective is to drive positive change through tangible, practical and swift action and to influence policy through collaborative thought leadership across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
