CanCan Diagnostics
Dogs spontaneously develop a wide range of cancers. It is estimated that 30% of dogs and close to 50% older than 10 years, will develop some type of neoplasm in their lifetime. Current diagnostic procedures are mostly based on diagnostic imaging and biopsies, both requiring sedation/anaesthesia. Liquid biopsy is a minimally invasive method to investigate cell-free DNA/RNA in the blood stream. Our product aims to detection of cell-free tumour DNA released by cancer cells into the blood and characterising its mutations, which can be used for screening, early detection and monitoring of cancer in pets.
